SMART Habit Saturday

Here is my SMART habit update and addition:
Well, I am doing pretty well with the bed making, dishes and scripture reading. I don't get all of them everyday, but I think they are all slowly becoming habits. It is also so nice to have a cleaner, more orderly home. Aaron likes it, too.

This week, I want to add two things. The first is for Luke. We didn't put him in a traditional preschool, so I was going to teach him the things he needs to know. I have really not been doing it, so my first new goal for the week is to work with him for at least 20 minutes. This is going to be easier since I just started doing a preschool tradeoff with Emily and her children. We started yesterday, and we'll do 3 days a week at each others' houses. I think the little girls will benefit as well.

So, number two is just to fold every load of laundry that is done. I always have a basket full of clean laundry and it is such a pain to have to search through it many times to find all the little things that you know are clean and probably in there somewhere. Then there is the dryer that has dry laundry in it even now. I even purposely only put clothes in there that didn't have to be folded or hung up right away, because I knew it needed to be cleaned. I also knew that I wouldn't get to it because it was pretty late in the day when I did it. I think I can greatly improve with this habit if I do it early in the day. I guess I'll have to start by folding a bunch of laundry...

Folding the laundry is a great goal! One I definitely need to work on too lol. It's amazing how fast it can pile up if you don't fold it right away.

I'm really enjoying reading everyone's progress on their habits. It is so inspiring! Good luck with your laundry habit. Folding and putting away the laundry is where I always get stuck.

I really need to work on preschool stuff with my daughter, too. She is in a preschool, but I think I need to supplement with some more writing and reading to make sure she is completely ready for Kindergarten. Keep us posted on how it goes!

Good job with all your first *habits* and good luck with your new ones! Laundry is my nemesis! :) It is so hard to keep on top of! I can wash and dry the clothes all day long, but after that they sit on my chair in my bedroom for like a week just waiting to be folded or ironed & worn! :) Oh well, that will have to be a future *habit* for me as well! Have a great weekend!

I am glad your earlier goals are starting to become habits. Good job!

Good luck on the laundry this week. One thing that helps me tackle the laundry is I multi-task while I do it. I either watch a show I have TiVoed or I put on my headset and return calls to family and friends. Sometimes I end up wishing for more laundry :) !!

I definately need to work on folding clothes and putting them away immediately after I fold them! Good luck on your goal!

oooooh laundry. Well, that steps on my toes! I have been awful getting my laundry folded lately! I will have to put that on my goal list in the near future. Good luck and I hope it goes well!!

Also great goal of working on preschool stuff with your son! I bet you will have a lot of fun.

Have a great week!

Keeping on top of the laundry is a great goal, as well as the doing the preschool stuff with your kids! Way to go!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!! I haven't done great, yet, but I don't usually get a lot done on the weekends. The rest of the house looks 10 times better than it usually does for a Sunday afternoon. Monday can be mostly a laundry day rather than a fix the whole house kind of a day!

It's funny that so many people hate doing laundry. It's not my least favorite chore so I guess that's why it doesn't bother me too much. I do always leave the socks for last. I hate matching socks even though everyone has the same white socks! It's all those different sizes that drive me crazy. I think we're due for some new socks around here.

Have fun folding! It's too bad you can't fold while you blog, eh?

I actually don't hate laundry so much, other than the fact that it is really never done. It doesn't stay done, either. I just don't seem to get it folded very efficiently. Dishes are what I really hate!
